On the afternoon of Christmas Eve, the Catonsville, MD residents in this case discovered their 2013 Subaru Forester had been stolen from their driveway. Their holiday was not totally ruined thanks to the LoJack® system installed in their SUV. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to track down the Forester in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On December 24th, 2013, the Subaru’s owner contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Forester, which was installed at Russell Mazda/Subaru in Baltimore, MD, was then automatically activated.

Within a short period of time, detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team and flight officers in the Baltimore County Aviation Unit ”Air 1” picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopter. The detectives tracked the Subaru to a vacant home on Queens Gate Road, where it was parked and unoccupied in the rear yard.  The owners of the Forester were thrilled to have their vehicle so quickly returned to them.
