When the owner of a Honda CR-V in Baltimore County, MD, was the victim of vehicle theft, the LoJack® system installed when the SUV was purchased proved its value by helping local law enforcement track and recover it in just over three hours after activation.
On November 13th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the CR-V, which was installed at O’Donnell Honda in Ellicott City, MD.
Within a short period of time, officers from the Baltimore County PD Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Honda to Edmondson Avenue in Baltimore County, where they found it parked and unoccupied. The CR-V was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owner.
