The New Jersey based owner of a Jeep Grand Cherokee parked her SUV, with her dog inside, in front of her friend’s home while she was visiting. When she exited, both her car and her dog were gone. Thank goodness for the LoJack® system, which helped local police find both her vehicle and her best friend.

On November 18th, 2013, the Jeep’s owner contacted the Middletown Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Grand Cherokee, which was installed at Autoland in Springfield, NJ

A short time later, a patrol officer from the CSX Railroad Police picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Jeep to Charles Road in Middletown he found the vehicle parked and abandoned. The dog was rescued alive and unharmed, and both dog and Grand Cherokee were soon returned to their thankful owner.
