When their Honda Accord was stolen from their home in Tustin, CA, these victims knew that reporting the theft to the police would activate the LoJack® System installed in their vehicle and allow it to be recovered fast- but they may not have known just how fast- in less than 20 minutes after activation!
On October 24th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted the Fowler Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Tustin Toyota in Tustin, CA.
Just a few minutes after activation, deputies from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. The deputies tracked the Honda to a residential area in central Fresno, where it was parked in a private driveway. After a brief surveillance, two males entered the vehicle and began to drive away. The deputies stopped the car and took the two suspects into custody. Investigation revealed that both suspects were members of a criminal street gang, and one was also found to be on active parole. The undamaged Accord was soon returned to its grateful owners.
