This Brooklyn, NY resident’s weekend started off badly when his Honda CBR600 Motorcycle was stolen from his residence one Friday night. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed on his bike, police were able to recover it quickly and return it to him, giving a great finish to an otherwise tough situation.

On October 18th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the NYPD 75th Precinct to report the theft. Officers verified the theft, took a written report, and entered the bike’s information into the NYPD Stolen Vehicle Computer and the NCIC national system. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed on the CBR600, which was installed at New York Honda in Long Island City, NY.

A short while later, officers from the NYPD Auto Crimes Division picked up the homing signal from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a residential area in the East New York section of Brooklyn, and found the Honda in the rear of an abandoned building. The undamaged CBR600 was soon returned to its elated owner, who stated that his bike would probably have never been recovered without LoJack.
