This case involved a Jaguar S-Type stolen on a Thursday afternoon in Maryland that was recovered in Washington, DC, in a little over two hours after activation, thanks to local police assisted by the LoJack® system.

On October 10th, 2013, the Jaguar’s owner contacted Bladensburg Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the S-Type, which was installed at Laurel Jaguar in Laurel, MD.

Within a short period of time, auto theft detectives from the District of Columbia Metropolitan (DC Metro) Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives tracked the Jag to Naylor Road SE in Washington, DC, where they found it parked and abandoned. The S-Type was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
