In this case, a Seattle, WA resident’s Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle was stolen from its owner’s home sometime in a two hour window. Despite the uncertainty of when the theft happened, local police, assisted by the LoJack® system, were able to recover the bike in a little over a half hour after activation.

On September 2nd, 2013, the Suzuki’s owner contacted Seattle Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the GSX-R600, which was installed at Renton Motorcycles in Renton, WA.

Just a short time later, a Seattle PD officer received the homing signal from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The officer located the Suzuki on South Plum Street, where it was parked and abandoned. The motorcycle’s owner was very happy to have his GSX-R600 recovered so quickly, and told police that this was the second time the bike was stolen and recovered using LoJack.
