It’s not easy to get yourself back into the regular groove of your life on the day after a holiday weekend. For the Plainfield, NJ resident in this case the day after Labor Day was especially bad because he discovered his Kia Sedona missing from his driveway, where he had parked it the previous evening. It’s a good thing he had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his car, so his local police were able to recover it in a little over a half hour after activation.

On September 3rd, 2013, the Kia’s owner contacted Plainfield Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Sedona, which was installed at Crystal Motors in Greenbrook, NJ.

A very short time later, a patrol officer from the Plainfield PD picked up the homing signals coming from the station wagon on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Sedona to a parking garage, where he found it abandoned. The undamaged Kia was soon returned to its relieved owner.
