The Jamaica, Queens, NY resident in this case had his 2009 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle stolen from in front of his house one Friday morning. The LoJack® system he purchased and had installed on his bike when he bought it proved to be a good investment, as it helped local police recover the vehicle that same day.

On September 6th, 2013, the Suzuki’s owner contacted the NYPD 103rd precinct to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the bike’s information into the NYPD stolen vehicle computer and the NCIC national stolen vehicle computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit on the CSXR600, which was installed at Cycle Power in Howard Beach, NY.

A short while later, members of the NYPD Auto Crime Division picked up the homing signal from the bike on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the Suzuki to the Jamaica section of Queens, where it was parked on a residential street and hidden under a tarp. The undamaged GSXR600 was soon returned to its grateful owner, who was elated that his motorcycle was recovered so quickly, saying that if it wasn’t for LoJack, his bike may never had been recovered.
