The Arlington, VA residents in this case got some good news and some bad news on a recent Thursday morning. The bad news- their Nissan Altima was not where they had parked it the previous evening. The good news- since they had the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their car, local police were able to recover it later that same morning.

On September 5th, 2013, the owners called Arlington Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the car’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into their state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Altima, which was installed at Tischer Acura/Nissan in Laurel, MD.

Within a short period of time, officers from the Arlington PD picked up the homing signals from the Nissan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the vehicle on Taft Street in Arlington. The Altima was soon returned to its relieved owners.
