A Chevy Tahoe SUV is stolen from an apartment complex parking lot in Dallas, TX, in this case. When local police, assisted by the LoJack® system, track the vehicle down, they also find other stolen cars and lots of stolen parts as well.

On August 19th, 2013, the Tahoe’s owner contacted the Dallas Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Tahoe, which was installed at Freeman Mazda in Irving, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, the Dallas PD flight crew picked up the homing signal from the SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The flight officers tracked the Tahoe to the fenced in backyard of a private home. Auto theft detectives responded and a search warrant was executed. Inside the backyard, officers found the Chevy plus two other stolen vehicles, a stolen trailer, and assorted parts from other cars and trucks. The homeowner admitted to police that he was running a chop shop and was arrested. The Chevy SUV was soon returned to its happy owner.
