The owners of the Suzuki GSX-R600 in this case discovered their bike missing from their residence right around dinner time one Thursday evening. The LoJack® system they had installed when they purchased it turned out to be a great investment as it assisted local law enforcement in recovering the vehicle that same evening.

On August 1st, 2013, the Suzuki’s owner motorcycle contacted the Columbia Police Department to report that their motorcycle was stolen from their home. Columbia PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the GSX-R600, which was installed at Rick Hendrick Performance Honda in Pineville, NC, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office picked up the homing signals from the stolen motorcycle on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex, where the Suzuki was recovered abandoned and parked in a numbered parking space. The undamaged GSX-R600 was soon returned to its happy owner.
