The Chicago, IL resident in this case had a tough start to his weekend when he woke up early Saturday morning and found his Chrysler Crossfire gone from where he had parked it the previous evening. It’s a good thing he had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his car, so local police were able to recover it in less than two hours after activation.

On July 20th, 2013, the Chrysler’s owner contacted the Chicago Police to report the vehicle stolen. CPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the Leads/NCIC local and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Crossfire, which was installed at Northwestern Chrysler in Chicago, IL, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, Chicago PD officers began receiving the homing signal from the Chrysler on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the car to North Clark Street where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Crossfire was soon returned to its happy owner.
