This Illinois motorcycle owner probably feels very glad that he purchased the LoJack® system for his Kawasaki Z14 motorcycle, since this case is the SECOND time his bike has been stolen and recovered by local law enforcement assisted by LoJack.

On July 12th, 2013, the Z14’s owner contacted the Chicago Police Department to report his bike stolen from his work location. Officers verified the theft and entered the motorcycle’s information into the LEADS/NCIC state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Z14, which was installed at MCIL Chicago Cycles in Lincolnwood, IL, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, Chicago Police in the 3rd and 6th districts began picking up the homing signals from the Kawasaki on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the bike near 65th and Stony Island Ave in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood, where it was parked in a private backyard. The Kawasaki had minimal damage and was soon returned to its relieved owner, who stated that this was the second time LoJack had helped police retrieve his bike after it was stolen and he was glad he chose to purchase LoJack.
