A Sunday in the middle of July sounds like the perfect time to go for a ride in your convertible. This may have been the plan of the Pueblo, CO residents in the case, who found their 2009 Mazda Miata missing- but not for long, thanks to the LoJack® system, which helped local police recover the car in just over a half hour after activation.

On July 14th, 2013, the Mazda’s owners contacted the Pueblo PD to report that their vehicle was stolen. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Miata, which was installed at Dale Spradley Motors, in Pueblo, CO.

A short while later, officers with Pueblo PD picked up the homing signals from the Mazda with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the convertible to Hanson Lane where it was found parked and abandoned. The Miata was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
