The Denver, CO residents in this case had a difficult Monday morning when they discovered their Kia Sportage was taken overnight from their driveway. Luckily, they had the LoJack® system installed when they bought their SUV, so local police were able to recover it later that same morning!

On July 15th, 2013, the owners of a Kia Sportage contacted the Arvada, CO Police to report that their vehicle had been stolen from in front of their home overnight. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Kia, which was installed at Grand Auto Inc. in Thornton, CO.

A short while later, officers with Adams County, Denver PD and Arvada PD began picking up the homing signals from the Sportage on the LoJack® tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to the area of 61st and Vrain Streets in Denver where it was found parked and abandoned. The Kia was soon returned to its relieved owners.
