A Yamaha FZ-6 motorcycle stolen in the Bronx is recovered by police using the LoJack® system in Yonkers, and there’s a bonus- another stolen bike is recovered as well.

On July 8th, 2013, the Yamaha’s owner contacted NYPD’s 43rd precinct to report his motorcycle was stolen while parked on Haviland Ave. in the Soundview section of the Bronx. NYPD’s 43rd precinct verified the theft and entered the motorcycle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/ NCIC). This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the motorcycle, which was installed at Motorcycle Mall in Belleville, NJ.

A short time later, a trooper from the NY State Police and officers from Yonkers PD picked up the homing signals from the Yamaha on the Police Tracking Computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the motorcycle to a multiple residential garage on Linn Ave. in Yonkers. Inside the garage, police found the stolen FZ-6 and another bike reported stolen in Connecticut.  One suspect was arrested and the undamaged Yamaha was soon returned to its extremely happy owner.
