The Brooklyn, NY resident in this case had two really good reasons for being grateful he had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his Acura TSX- his vehicle was stolen twice within a two week period and recovered both times by local law enforcement assisted by LoJack.

On June 25th, 2013, the Acura’s owner contacted the NYPD 72nd precinct to report that his vehicle was stolen from his house in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn. Officers verified the theft and entered the car’s information into the NYPD stolen vehicle computer and the national NCIC system. The LoJack unit concealed on the TSX, which was installed at Plaza Auto Mall in Brooklyn, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, members of the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the homing signal from the TSX on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their police vehicles. They tracked the car to the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. After a brief surveillance, a male entered the vehicle and drove away. The Acura was soon stopped and the suspect arrested. The TSX was soon returned to its very relieved owner, who stated that his car would probably not have been recovered in either instance had it not been for the LoJack system.
