In this case, a Jamul, CA resident discovers his Ford F-150 is missing from his residence early one Saturday evening. Because he was smart enough to have the LoJack® system installed in his truck when he purchased it, his local police were able to recover it in only one hour and 16 minutes after activation.

On June 22nd, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit, which was installed at Power Ford Torrance in Torrance, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the F-150 on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to a commercial neighborhood where it was found abandoned. The Ford was soon returned to its happy owner.
