This Dallas, TX resident had not only her car, but her purse and wallet stolen by a thief who wasn’t aware that when he took her belongings, he was taking the LoJack® system as well, enabling local law enforcement to recover all three items that same day.

On June 25th, 2013, the owner of a 2009 Honda Accord contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from an apartment complex.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Freeman Honda in Dallas, TX.

A short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Honda to the driveway of a private home.  When officers approached the house, a suspect opened the front door, quickly shut it, and ran out the back door. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. Police recovered the Honda and found the victim’s purse and wallet inside the suspect’s home. The Accord had only minor ignition damage and was soon returned to its grateful owner.
