These Washington, DC residents were really glad they had decided to install the LoJack® system in their BMW 645 when they woke up one Friday morning to find it missing.

On May 17th, 2013, the car’s owners contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the BMW, which was installed at DiFeo BMW in Tenafly, NJ.

A short while later, DC Metro detectives picked up homing signals from the stolen BMW on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives tracked the vehicle to Stanton Road SE, where it was recovered parked and unoccupied. The 645 was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
