In this case, a nervy thief steals takes a 2011 Honda CBR600 motorcycle from its rightful owner and then chains it to a utility pole so no one can take it from him!

On May 4th, 2013, the CBR600’s owner contacted NYPD’s 108th precinct in Woodside, Queens, to report that her bike was stolen while parked in her driveway. NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the motorcycle, which was installed at New York Honda Yamaha in Long Island City, NY.

A short while later, detectives assigned to the Bronx DA’s Auto Squad and NYPD’s Auto Crimes Division picked up the homing signals from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives located the Honda chained to a utility pole on Fox St. in the Bronx. The CBR600 was soon returned to its relieved owner with only minor ignition damage.
