Waking up early comes naturally to some people, and is always a struggle for others, but it doesn’t matter if you’re totally alert or still half-asleep, it’s still a shock to leave your home in the morning and find your vehicle is not where you left it. The Riverside, CA resident who experienced this trauma in this case was smart enough to have installed the ever-alert LoJack® system in his Honda CDX, so his local police were able to track down his wheels just 77 minutes after activation.

On May 15th, 2013, the CDX’s owner contacted the Riverside County, CA Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his home. The RCSD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Honda, which was installed at Honda of Pasadena, CA.

A short time later, officers from the Chula Vista PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers observed it traveling on Interstate 5 in San Diego.  The police stopped the CDX and arrested four suspects. The vehicle was recovered undamaged and soon returned to its relieved owner.
