It’s pretty sure these Las Vegas residents weren’t thinking TGIF (Thank Goodness It’s Friday) when they woke up on May 10th, 2013, to find that their home had been burglarized and their Mercedes Benz ML3 had been taken. However, later that day, they may have coined a new saying, TGFL (Thank Goodness For LoJack®) when their vehicle was tracked down by Las Vegas, Nevada Metropolitan Police in only 88 minutes after activation.

The victims contacted LVMP as soon as they discovered the ML3 missing. The officers verified the theft and entered the car’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into their computer’s stolen vehicle system. This automatically activated the LoJack device in the Mercedes, which was installed at Smythe European in San Jose, CA.

A short while later, LVMP officers began picking up the homing signal from the Mercedes with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. They tracked the car to a residential neighborhood in Southwest Las Vegas. It was soon returned to its grateful owners.
