This Brooklyn motorcycle owner was glad he invested in the LoJack® System when he purchased his Kawasaki KLR650. The responding police officers were pretty happy also, because, while recovering this bike, they located another stolen motorcycle and some illegal drugs as well.

On April 23rd, 2013, the Kawasaki’s owner contacted the 88th precinct in the Navy Yard section of Brooklyn, NY to report that his motorcycle was stolen from his residence, where he had parked and locked it the night before. The officers entered the bike’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into their local and national crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit installed on the KLR650, which was installed at Champion Honda Motorsport in Hicksville, NY.

A short while later, officers from the Auto Crime Division, Staten Island, picked up the homing signal from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. The officers tracked the KLR650 to a garage in the 120th precinct. A male who drove up to the garage on another motorcycle was taken into custody. When police searched the location, they also found an additional stolen motorcycle and some illegal drugs.

The Kawasaki was recovered in excellent condition. The owner was elated that his bike was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage. He said that it was well worth the money he spent for the LoJack system when he purchased his bike.
