The LoJack® System was designed to assist your local police in retrieving a stolen car, truck or motorcycle, not only for private parties but businesses as well. In this next case, a truck rental business in Colorado was losing revenue when a client failed to return a 2011 Ford F-350. The employees were glad their company had chosen to have LoJack units installed on their fleet vehicles.

On April 22nd, 2013, the managers of a rental firm in Highlands Ranch, Colorado contacted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to report that this F-350 they had rented had not been returned and efforts to contact the renter or recover the truck had failed. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, officers with the Lakewood PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen Ford with the LoJack tracking computers are installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to a hotel parking lot, where the F-350 was recovered and soon returned to the rental agency.
