What should you do when an auto thief threatens you with a gun? The safe response is to let the vehicle be taken, and contact law enforcement later. If you have the LoJack® System installed, your car, truck or motorcycle will begin sending a homing signal to help your local police find it as soon as it’s reported stolen.

On April 16th, 2013, two suspects stole a 2007 Ford F-350 pickup and trailer at gunpoint from a lawn service employee at an apartment complex.  The employee contacted the Irving, Texas Police, who verified the robbery and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit in the truck.

A short time later, Dallas PD officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. They located the truck and trailer traveling eastbound on C.F. Hawn The suspects became aware of the helicopter and drove the F-350 and trailer into an apartment complex.  Both suspects jumped out of the pickup and fled on foot.  The helicopter guided ground units to the location and both suspects were arrested. The truck and trailer were soon returned to their owners.
