This story is a great example of synergy- when separate entities work together to create an action that is greater than if they worked alone. In this case, Colorado state and local police branches work together to locate a stolen car, assisted by the LoJack® System.

On April 9th, 2013, the owners of a Honda Accord contacted the Colorado Springs Police to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit, which was installed at Keys Woodland Hills Honda in Woodland Hills, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with the Colorado Springs PD and investigators with the Southern Colorado Auto Theft Task Force (SoRATT) picked up the homing signals from the stolen Honda with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a parking lot and found it unoccupied.  The Accord was soon returned to its owners, and the suspect, who was on probation for previous violations, was soon arrested.
