On January 1, 2013 the owner of a 2010 Kawasaki EX250 motorcycle contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their motorcycle had been stolen from their residence sometime during the previous night.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Kawasaki motorcycle.

A short while later, deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Kawasaki motorcycle on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the motorcycle to a large apartment complex parking lot. There, they located the motorcycle, legally parked and abandoned. It appeared that the vehicle had been used for transportation and then abandoned. The owner responded to the location and the motorcycle released into his custody.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Kawasaki motorcycle on August 24, 2010 at Alamo Cycle Plex in San Antonio, Texas.
