On November 25, 2012, the owners of a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide motorcycle contacted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to report the motorcycle stolen.

The deputy verified the theft and entered the Harley’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle.  LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.

A short while later, deputies with the Adams County SO picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Harley with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.

Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs, the deputies tracked the motorcycle to a closed garage of a residence.  They contacted the property owner and obtained permission to open the garage. Inside, they recovered the stolen Harley, valued at approximately $10,000.

This investigation is continuing by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide motorcycle in August 2010 at Sun Harley Davidson in Thornton, Colorado.
