On November 29, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle contacted the Montgomery County Police Department to report that their motorcycle was stolen from the 4600 block of Wissahican Avenue in the Rockville area of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Montgomery County Police Department officers verified the theft and entered the motorcycle’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponders concealed in the Suzuki.

After a period of time, officers from the Prince Georges County Police Department in Maryland picked up the silent Lojack homing signals from the stolen Suzuki on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the motorcycle to 10100 Big Chimney Branch in the Largo area of Prince Georges County. Investigation by the auto theft detectives who responded to the scene resulted in the recovery of the LoJack-equipped Suzuki after the execution of a search warrant. One suspect has been identified and charges related to this theft are pending.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Suzuki motorcycle in April, 2007 by Cycle World of Daytona.
