On November 6, 2012, the second owner of a 2008 Kawasaki R600 motorcycle contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that the motorcycle was stolen from his assigned parking spot in the apartment complex where he lives. The owner last saw the motorcycle just before midnight on November 5, and discovered it missing at 11:30AM the following morning.

San Antonio Police verified the theft and entered the Kawasaki’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle.

A short while later, officers from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department, San Antonio Police Department, and Texas Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Kawasaki motorcycle on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the motorcycle to a body shop, where the motorcycle was located inside the building  Officers from the Auto Theft Task Force were called to the location to handle the investigation. An arrest is pending in this case.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Kawasaki R600 motorcycle on April 7, 2010 at Alamo Cycle Plex in San Antonio, Texas.
