On September 15, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle discovered the vehicle stolen and contacted the Tucson Police Department to report the theft.

Tucson Police verified the crime and had the Suzuki’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle. Neither the owners nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network because LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.

A short while later, officers with the Tucson Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Suzuki with the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex parking lot in the 200 block of West Flores. There, the officers located the stolen Suzuki, behind a wall and underneath a tarp. The officers also found a second motorcycle concealed under a tarp at the scene. Through good police work, the officers located a suspect, who admitted involvement in both thefts. He was later booked into jail on felony charges.

The LoJack Recovery System was installed in the Suzuki in May of 2008 by Ride-Now Powersports on Ina.
