On August 30, 2012, the owner of a 2010 Saturn Vue contacted the Monroe Police Department to report that the vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway overnight.

Monroe Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Saturn.

A short while later, deputies with the Monroe County Sherriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Saturn on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their cruisers. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the cruisers located the stolen Saturn, parked and unoccupied in residential area of Monroe.

Because of the fast recovery, there was no visible damage and the suspects did not have enough time to strip it or use it to commit other crimes.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Saturn by Saturn of National City in January 2003.  The current owner was happy that the original purchaser equipped the Saturn with LoJack when they bought it.
