In the early morning hours of August 28, 2012, the owner of a 2012 Kawasaki ZX2 motorcycle was notified by the LoJack Early Warning System that his motorcycle may be in motion. The owner checked out front of his home, where he had parked the bike, to discover it missing, and quickly contacted the Belleville Police Department to report the theft.

The Belleville Police Department verified the theft and entered the Kawasaki’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle.

Moments later, a patrol officer from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen motorcycle on the Police Tracking Computers installed in his vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the patrol officer tracked the vehicle to Ferry Street, in the City of Newark, where he located the bike. The undamaged motorcycle is valued at $11,675.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle on February 9, 2012 at Motorcycle Mall in Belleville, New Jersey.
