On Monday evening, July 30, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle contacted the Lauderhill Police Department to report the motorcycle stolen from their home in Lauderhill, Florida. Lauderhill Police verified the theft and had the Suzuki’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle.

Later that night, officers from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Suzuki on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking computer (PTC). Following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screens, the officers, along with backup, located the motorcycle in a residential area in the 1800 block of N.W. 15th Street of Fort Lauderdale. The motorcycle was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from federal and state crime computer systems.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle on April 21, 2006 at Broward Motorsports in Davie, Florida, and has been protecting it ever since.
