Fort Worth Officers Using LoJack Recover Stolen Harley, Along with 2 Jet Skis Stolen in 1996

On June 19, 2012, the owner of a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle contacted the Fort Worth Police Department to report that her motorcycle was stolen from an apartment complex in Fort Worth. Fort Worth officers verified the theft and entered the motorcycle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

A short while later, officers from the Arlington Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen motorcycle on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the motorcycle to a house, where they observed it parked behind a Lincoln Navigator in the driveway.  The license plate was missing from the motorcycle, and the ignition was damaged. Officers made contact with the owner of the house, who stated that she had no idea that a stolen motorcycle was at her house.  She did state that the Lincoln Navigator, parked behind the stolen motorcycle, was hers. Officers searched the backyard, and discovered two stolen jet skis sitting on a trailer. They had been stolen since 1996.
