LoJack’s Early Warning System Recovers a Yamaha Motorcycle for the 2nd Time

When the owner of a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle received an Early Warning alert from LoJack, he quickly checked on his motorcycle and discovered that it had been stolen. He immediately filed a theft report with the Houston Police Department. After the responding officer gathered all of the pertinent information, he entered the Yamaha’s information into the state and national law enforcement stolen vehicle computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Vehicle Recovery Network, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Less than an hour later, a trooper from the Texas Department of Public Safety received the Yamaha’s silent homing signals on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his patrol car. The trooper followed the directional and signal strength information on the PTC to quickly locate the motorcycle in a large apartment parking lot. The motorcycle was parked and abandoned. The trooper recovered the motorcycle and had it stored until the owner could be notified.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed at the original owner’s request in August 2008. This is the second time that the motorcycle had been stolen and recovered using the LoJack Early Warning System.
