Suzuki Motorcycle Stolen in Austin, Recovered Intact Minutes Later

On February 17, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle reported his bike stolen to the Austin Police Department. After obtaining all pertinent information, Austin officers had the Suzuki’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer databases. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Twenty three minutes later, San Antonio Police officers began to pick up the silent LoJack homing signal from the Suzuki on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer installed in their vehicle. This allowed them to track the stolen motorcycle to an apartment complex, where they found it abandoned in the parking lot. Because the motorcycle was recovered so quickly, it did not sustain any damage and was not missing any of its parts. This remains an ongoing investigation.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Suzuki motorcycle at the owner’s request on January 12, 2007.
