The vehicle owner in this case turned out to be a double victim. Her BMW 325 was stolen and recovered, but needed some repairs. She left her vehicle to be picked up by the insurance company three days later, but it was stolen again. Local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, recovered it again without any further damage.

On June 14th, 2014, the BMW’s owner contacted police to report the second theft. Officers verified the incident and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 328, which was installed at United Rentals in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

A short while later, police flight officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in their airship. The flight crew directed ground officers to 37th Street, where the BMW was being driven. The driver pulled over and attempted to escape on foot, but was quickly apprehended. The 325 was retrieved and once again returned to its thankful owner.
