LoJack System Helps Washington State Patrol Recover a Stolen Honda Odyssey

This Honda Odyssey van was stolen by persons known to the owner but without permission. The suspect was brought to the owners’ apartment complex located in the 6500 block of “D” Street in Tacoma by a friend of the owner. While there the suspect took the keys to the Honda and drove away. The theft was immediately reported to the Tacoma Police Department. The Tacoma PD verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Less than twenty minutes later, a Washington State Patrol trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda on the Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in her patrol car. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, she tracked the Honda to an apartment complex located at 176th & Springer in Lakewood. A female in the Honda was questioned and released. The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Odyssey in May 2017 at Northwest Honda in Bellingham, Washington.
