This Mazda 3 was stolen from the owner’s residence located in the 3600 block of Plummer Street SE in Olympia. The owner saw the Mazda driving away with another black car following it. She immediately contacted the Olympia Police Department to report the theft.

The Olympia PD verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

Just thirty minutes later, a Lacey Police Department officer, equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC), received the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda. Following audible and visual cues from the PTC, the officer located the Mazda in a restaurant parking lot on Pacific Avenue in Olympia.

The Mazda was abandoned and apparently undamaged. The Mazda was returned to the owner who purchased the car used and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.

The investigation continues with a good lead on a suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda 3 in July 2008 Milam Mazda in Puyallup, Washington.
