The owner of a 2003 Lexus SC430 convertible contacted the Scottsdale Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the past couple days from the store parking lot where they had parked it.

The Scottsdale PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Fifteen minutes later the helicopter crew from the Phoenix Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the helicopter crew tracked the Lexus to area of 7th Street and Missouri Avenue in Phoenix.

The Lexus was located unoccupied in a parking lot of a restaurant and lounge.  Officers from the Phoenix PD contacted the owner of the restaurant and were informed that the Lexus had been parked there all day.  The Phoenix PD officers recovered the stolen Lexus in good condition.  The Lexus was impounded for safekeeping and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus SC430 in February 2008 at BMW of North Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona.
