The owner of a 2009 Harley Davidson XL1200 contacted the Coolidge Police Department to report that his motorcycle had been stolen.  The victim advised that someone paid the storage fees and took the motorcycle from the storage facility without permission.

The Coolidge PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Harley Davidson.

Ten minutes later, troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Harley Davidson with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the troopers tracked the Harley to a neighborhood near Southern Avenue and Mesa Drive in Mesa, approximately forty-five miles from where it was reported stolen from.

Detectives from the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force responded and determined that the LoJack signal was coming from a residence in the neighborhood.  The auto theft detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence.  The stolen Harley Davidson was located in the residence and recovered in good condition.  Detectives also seized cocaine that was packaged for sale.  One of the suspects was a prohibited possessor in possession of firearms.  Detectives seized a shotgun and a semi-auto pistol.  Two suspects were arrested and booked on several felony charges.  The Harley Davidson was impounded for safekeeping and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Harley Davidson XL1200 in September 2008 at Arrowhead Harley Davidson in Peoria, Arizona.
